The Way Maker

The Way Maker

Life often presents obstacles that seem insurmountable—moments of uncertainty, hardship, and despair. Yet, for those who trust in God, there is always hope. The Bible reveals that God is a Waymaker, guiding His people through trials and opening doors where none seemed to exist. Jesus, too, demonstrated this divine power, offering salvation and making a way for all who believe in Him.

God as the Waymaker

Throughout Scripture, we see God making a way for His people:

  • Deliverance from Egypt: When the Israelites were trapped between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea, God parted the waters, allowing them to escape (Exodus 14:21-22).

  • Provision in the wilderness: As the Israelites wandered in the desert, God provided manna from heaven and water from a rock (Exodus 16:4, Numbers 20:11).

  • Victory over obstacles: God assured His people that He would fight for them: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14)

Jesus as the Waymaker

Jesus embodies the ultimate waymaker, offering salvation and eternal life:

  • Salvation through grace: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

  • Healing and restoration: Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, and forgave sins, showing that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37)
  • Victory over death: Through His resurrection, Jesus made a way for humanity to have eternal life (John 11:25).

Trusting in God’s Plan

Even when life feels uncertain, God is always working behind the scenes:

  • “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

  • “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

Conclusion

No matter what challenges you face, remember that God is the Waymaker. He opens doors, clears paths, and leads His people to victory. Jesus, through His sacrifice, made the ultimate way for us to be reconciled with God. Trust in Him, and know that He is always working for your good.
